On Demand Scan only

I bought nod32 yesterday and only want the on demand scan fuction as i have another product running real time protection, how can i set up nod32 so it only loads up the nod32kernal file when i need it? or is it even possibly?

Also i updated and i had a pop-up saying the download was corrupted but the it still showed as being updated , any idea's?

I should also mention that i installed nod32 on a vmware clean install xp machine and then updated that and there where no error warning, then copied the directory to my main machine, booted in safe mode and and copied the folder that updated correctly with no errors into there. So i'm assuming i should now be up to date?

 

I have not tried this myself, but try going to Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> Services. Look for "NOD32 Kernel Service" and double-click it. To to the General tab and set the startup type to "Manual". Click OK, reboot, and let me now how it goes.
