If that is so that is strange because mine always says Release Candidate even when the Official Release comes out, only if I uninstall and reboot and install the Official Release from the links above then for me it does not say Release Candidate in the GUI :doubt:

Sorry if you thought I was badgering you that was not my intention! ;)

    Best Regards,

    TH

Yes I did and I realised that's probably why I didn't experience the issue reported. I thought it likely that the cause was updating over the top of a release candidate and it's good to see it confirmed. I agree that it's not a bug in the GUI as such, but rather a feature of the way the updating process works. :)

Agreed! The Beta/RC is 1kb bigger than the Official Release version because of the updating process for the Beta's! ;)

@ tobacco and post #18: Re snapshots and SO, the only fix I could come up with is if you wish to take snapshot of a page/object online, you will HAVE to turn off SO, take the shot, then turn it back on. Been watching for a long time for this solution where it will do it flawlessly, so far, no joy.

Thanks Pat - i was afraid of that. It would be tolerable is we didn't have to close down the browser and re-open to accomplish this. I really miss my snagit :(

    hi Triple Helix

does it really matter if prevx does say Release Candidate because as far as i am concerned, lets say u do remove it from the GUI then theres a problem like i have had and the other members have had also in the past and Joe tells us to use a release candidate to fix the problem then its back on the gui again anyways. So if they fixed the problem with the GUI then great if not i don't think its a big deal long as it updates to the newest version with the updater and mine did i am seeing version 305.130 for the version

    thanks mrgigabyte

I don't think it's a big deal either I always have the RC installed and it's the same code! If there is a new one it will Auto-Update as I always want the latest release Beta, RC or Official. :D

After thinking about it, why can't safeonline has a setting on the tab to turn off protection for "a site" instead of having to disable it completely and restart the browser??

I missed a couple posts in this thread and wanted to clear up some aspects of our protection. In the SafeOnline configuration, you can configure any website to have lowered protection if wanted, or a group of websites by wildcard (i.e. all HTTP or HTTPS websites).

Changing configuration from Maximum to High will only disable screenshot protection so if you frequently take screenshots, it would definitely be useful to have this disabled :) You can turn it down for all websites if wanted, or for specific ones but note that if a secured website loads in a browser session, the entire browser session will remain secured (as there is no 100% way to determine that no content from the previous website exists on screen anymore).

    Hope that helps! :)

Thanks - i'll look at that.

BTW, you mentioned something yesterday that seems to be the root of the "Tab Disappearing" for me in Iron - "RAM"!

It hasn't happened yet this morning after 45 minutes now and thinking back to when it happened, i had a VM running in Virtualbox. Will test again later.

How much RAM do you have? And how much do you run in your VM's? I myself have 3.25GB usable out of 4GB and my VM's I use 512MB for XP Pro, 1024MB for Vista & Windows 7 and I have no problems with my system and within my my VM's! But I only run one VM at a time as all VM's I have set 2 core's to work inside them to make them snappy.

Yes it is if it says 3.0.5.130! They will be releasing a new version in the next day or two and you will automatically get updated to the new Beta/RC or Official Release if there is one!
