BTW something I just now noticed: Previously in this thread we had some discussion about the third-party library 7za.dll It is just now that I saw that that file is nomore in the OE Classic folder. Instead there is now 7zxa.dll The file is here: C:\Program Files (x86)\OEClassic\7zxa.dll It is dated 30 Dec 2018. See screenshot for its properties tab. I should have noticed it earlier.

OE Classic Pro beta [2019-03-13] has been released. The ReadMe.txt files for 11 March and 13 March are the same. At the moment I don't have more info about what has been changed.
Anyone know more about what has been changed? Maybe it was posted at Facebook ough ... I block FB. IMHO update info should never only be published at social media, but hey that's me.
- New version of OEC PRO released today. No details on what was changed. - I assume that there were one or more (small ??) bugs fixed/improvements made in the program code. I wouldn't worry too much.
Thanks, @Willy2. More info here: https://www.oeclassic.com/news Download: https://www.oeclassic.com/download
- "Runs as smoothly as ever" ?? Depends. The program still needs some more "polishing" but these are non-critical issues to be solved in future releases. Don't worry, these issues won't cause e.g. a complete break-down of the program.
Hm... if a program needs some more "polishing" (whatever that means), I don't think users have to fear a "complete break-down" of the program. Anyway, I haven't had any problems with the new version so far.
- Which new version ? There were 2 versions v2.9 released. - I always download the latest version before I upgrade. That allows me to go back to a previous version. Not that I don't trust the program but "just in case". And for the 1st time I perhaps will go back to the 1st v2.9 version. No, I won't tell you why.
Just noticed this post by a member of DSLR on this program....Quote: "Having always had a soft spot for the original OE I downloaded the current version from the link provided here. Both Windows Defender and Malwarebytes Premium scans showed the file to be clean. However, a similar scan using Virus Total revealed two engines, HW32.Packed and BScope.Trojan.Bitrep, which pretty much nipped in the bud any thought of installing it. Based on your recommendation I then wrote to the developers to ask about this same concern. RE:https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r32327862-Updated-OE-Classic-2-9-released-March-17-2019 Anyone else see this...Hope developer advises SOON...
- If you downloaded the program from the OEC website then I would assume that the program is virus/malware free.
From developer...Quote.."In short – OE Classic is safe to use and has never had a malware or virus. But if you want a clarification: HW32.Packed. – the antivirus doesn’t know how to unpack the file BScope.Trojan.Bitrep – a false positive detection." https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r32327862-Updated-OE-Classic-2-9-released-March-17-2019
I came across the following text on the Outlook Classic website (posted: October 1, 2016): "In other news, we are testing IMAP support. It works already and internal builds can connect to a server and fetch messages. But there is a lot of work in tweaking it properly and adding it to the user-interface in a user friendly manner. We'll get there and we will keep you informed." Source: https://www.oeclassic.com/news
Yes, it's true. They've been working on IMAP support for quite a while, but development of this important feature seems to be in its final stages now. I'm pretty sure that v3.0, which has IMAP support, will be released very soon.
