Odd disk problem

I like to keep a baseline image on one of my hard disks so that I can restore it quicker rather than from the external USB drive. This works fine on one of the Hard drives which has not been altered since it was partitioned and installed some time ago.

On another hard drive (I am talking separate HD's not partitions) I can image to it but ATI drops out with errors when I try to restore (boot image), but copying that image to the other HD and it works fine.

Did a format of it with Win (XP) and ran chkdsk on it and all fine but the same problem keeps happening.

The only common denominator is that I merged and formatted it with Paragon SE. I have had this before using Paragon on another partition.

Can anyone explain this please.
