He'd find much! more overcharging in the NSA's "black budget", I bet.

Actually, maybe it's so thoroughly firewalled that nobody has the requisite credentials to determine that

Re: Snowden: 'NSA 'set fire' to the internet...

Given your avatar, I'm reminded of "Dr. Strangelove". The NSA has indeed gone rogue, rather like Brigadier General Jack D. Ripper on steroids ;)

"Evidence of suspicion?" That's one messed up title.

It's a shame more don't use encryption, just for the purpose of making them choke on the quantity.

Not any attempt to re-direct the topic but only a reply to mirimir.

The avatar is a reminder of one of the greatest acting performances I've ever witnessed; Peter Sellers playing three roles in that movie and absolutely nailing all three. I've not seen it duplicated before or since.

The movie itself is a dark reminder of the government of the United States knowingly and willingly seeking, employing, and promoting to positions of great power and influence sinister individuals and even former enemies to do the very dirty work of spying on it's citizens and worse.

If you are unaware, check out 'Operation Paperclip'; devised and executed by the OSS, the forerunner of the CIA. This goes back to the 1940s.
While the U. S. and our allies fought the Soviet Union and Communism in general throughout the Cold War period, our own 'democratic' governments were doing the exact same thing to their citizens.

I am a citizen of the United States of America.
    I love my country.
All I ask is for honesty and transparency.
Where honesty and transparency might endanger the public, simply say 'no comment'
    Don't lie to us.
We can handle the truth, as long as we know what it is.
    (End of rant)

What a surprise, the oversight-committee is being 'out-sighted' by those people who have been given the power to 'out-sight' everyone.
A bit silly not to expect that 'everyone' includes themselves.

I totally agree. I also love his role in "The Magic Christian".

Yes, the US and CCCP raced to capture German experts. It's common knowledge (or was, anyway) that German scientists (such as Wernher von Braun) and captured V2s were essential in jump starting the US missile program. The Soviets got help too. But there were also intelligence experts (for KGB and CIA/NSA) and propaganda experts (for Soviet Glavlit, and US advertising/PR agencies and government).

    I wouldn't know ;)
