    3/1....yellow card

    25/1....stretchered off

    50/1....red card

    Place your bets people!

    Play on, big ed

I am getting sick of all those yellow cards, com on referees let's play soccer.

    France - Switzerland 0-0 (8 yellow cards?)

    I almost fell asleep

Wont get to see any matches today...will watch tapes later. It has been my experience that the players usually beg for a card by their antics. As the Refs have been given more leeway to control the game I'm (hopefully) sure there will be fewer as the games progress.

    As always....player safety is paramount!

    But I hear you...a 0-0 match can be a great one....or a snoozer!!

O'ranje gets Ivory Coast next.....I'm gonna watch that one!! I've had my eye on Van Persie all year.

    Play on, big ed

I'll keep my eye on Van Nistelrooy: It's DO or DIE for him next Friday, and knowing him -and his stats!- a little... my bet is: DO. ;)
    Expecting an (goal-)eruption from Ruud-Ruud-Ruud.
Otherwise: It's exit for Van-the-Man and welcome Dirk Kuijt.

(Van Persie is allowed to score in between though :D)

    Play on,

    To say the least.....

I'm no football expert but another stunning thing to me is how United States can be ranked 5th in the world. I would think there would be many teams ahead of them. :doubt:

As slammer will not comment on the Germany fiascos for fear of being banned from this Forum....I will not comment on the US team for fear of losing my citizenship. Cripes...I might be deported to Canadoodia! I am so hoping that Germany gets toasted by Ecuador. I'm even wishing that the US gets their heads out of their rear and surprise the "Pastas"!

The FIFA ranking system has been fodder for much mirth and merriment since day 1!

    Play on, big ed

How do you say "OUCH" in Canadoodian?

    Oops...England beat TT 2 -0!

Try as he might Ferdinand attempted to score for TT in the 1st half but Terry saved his bacon!!

As I have lost all reality I'm not sure if the Lions played well or not!

I guess the Brits advance by default.

Sweden Paraguay next....have to go to Library and mow lawn. This ones up for grabs.

    Play on, big ed

Ps...Should be 3 good ones tomorrow!

Lovin it so far, big ed

    Ps....Tomorrow O'ranje and Ivory Coast....should be a good one!!

    Okay Holland & Ivory Coast,

After the last matches of this worldcup-day I wanna say just one thing to you for tomorrow:

Let's show the rest of the world that a soccer-match is worthwile in all / the whole 90 minutes! (And not just the last 5 of them)

It IS possible to score BEFORE the 90th minute, you know! :cautious:
And I know for sure you will...:isay::)

Yes Ed, this will be a good one...! :-*

    Play on!

    Guess what?

England and Germany could meet in the later stages!

    I predict an exciting match ending in a tie......8 - 8!

Go to penalty kicks...44 shots later...one of them concedes!

History in the making...folks, big ed

    ORANGE NIGHT IN STUTTGART TONIGHT

    Netherlands vs Ivory Coast

While Dutch supporters will be in the majority in Stuttgart tonight, African fans will contribute their part; It will be a great atmosphere, everyone will be wearing orange.
Expecting an great game! Very curious about the creativity and strength of the African players.
If you can't stand the colour orange, better not watch tonight.. :D
But if you love attractive attacking football, you better do.

Yep the whole stadium will be in orange which contributes to a HOT game, 18:00 CEST.
But not only the game will be hot, also the temp in Stuttgart is very high and the air very humid.
So guys/galls: not to much beer then today, take water instead so every now and then *puppy*:ninja:
( I watch in the local PROATHUUS Joris, enjoy the game(s) )
