    The season is still a long long way to go... so hold your horses :rolleyes:

    Only winning the champions league will secure you a spot between the REAL topclubs! :p

    But fair is fair: congrats for now, enjoy while it lasts, Iceni....

    Attention please:

    [MOVE]
    ~~~ Attractive match ~~~ ALERT ~~~:)
    [/MOVE]
    Ladies & gentlemen, in just over 2 hours, at 19:30 GMT a very promising worldcup qualifying match will kick of in Prague (Cz):
    Group 1, European zone:
    Czech Republic vs The Netherlands ( L'Orange :) )
    If you like, you can follow this game LIVE overhere: http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/en/#
    Why is this match so promising?
    * First, because Holland can qualify tonight, and the Czechs have to fight for their last chance.
    * Secondly, these two teams are both well-known for their straight-forward attacking gameplay - and the Czech Republic's 3-2 victory over the Netherlands at EURO 2004 was regarded one of the most exciting and entertaining games of the tournament in Portugal! (Some even think of all-time:D )
    * Some (foreign) media expect an agreement by both teams for a draw, because both would benefit; however, Holland coach Marco van Basten has stated that "the Dutch team should train competing a strong opponent and try to win these games."
    * For what it's worth: at the FIFA-worldranking Holland is currently ranked 2nd, the Czech Republic 4th.
    * Last, but not least: The Dutch have got the most points (28 out of 10) scored so far, of all (!) teams in all qualifying groups; and the Czechs have scored the most goals (32) sofar! (See stats below)
    So whatever you are/were planning this Saturdaynight: Cancel it, and don't miss this classic!:ninja:
    [MOVE]
    ;) ENJOY!!! :)
    "SIEG!":-* 0-2
    What a marvelous game it was!
    After coming home from partying all evening :doubt: -forgive me my language, it's all in good spirit, just teasing :p - please allow me to say:
    Nachbarn, Wir kommen !!!
    Holland ist dabei,
    Bis bald, Wir kommen...Wir kommen euch zu holen...Wir werden euch finden..und fassen... und siegen...
    # BE READY FOR DÉJÀVU 1988 #
    Oh don't you just love these reviews:
    "....First, a Tomas Rosicky penalty was kept out by Edwin van der Sar, whereupon a high-octane Dutch counterattack was finished off with a flourish by Rafael van der Vaart, immediately followed by a Jiri Stajner equaliser which was promptly ruled out by the referee. From that moment on, nothing more was going to come between Marco van Basten's men and their place in Germany. ":D
    And what about this one:
    "..to dismiss this match as a game of three minutes would be to do the Dutch a grave injustice. For while the proceedings would doubtless have taken on a totally different complexion had Rosicky beaten Van der Sar from the spot, the Manchester United keeper's save typified the firm grip the Dutch had on the game as a whole. "
    YIHAAAAA
    :D :D :D
    Read today about Michael Owen's interview. He must be living in the state of denial. Claimed that England was 2nd best in the World after Brazil. The logic he used to come to this conclusion was hilarious.
    Haven't read it yet (can you give me a link please?) but I get your point.
    Then again, it's anybodys' game from next summer.
    The circus starts all over again; new round, new chanches for everybody.
    Nothing wrong with a good load of self-confidence. Without it, there's really no point in competing anyway, is there? ;)
    (Then again, over-confidence is very dangerous... :doubt: )
    Of course I have my personal favorite(s), but above all I would really like to see the downfall of the (imho) slightly overrated Brasilians.
    And although they really have some extraordinary players, and occaisonally play some fabulous soccer; their image of number one winners is often doing the trick, helping them to scare of teams, that potentially would be able to defeat them.
    Not to mention this effect has on important/crucial referee-decisions (blunders)... it's a fact, seen everywhere: winners have just that edging advantage...if you see what I mean
    Really believe I'm not alone when I say:
    It's time for "a new king".
    (Hope for an orange one :D )
    regards,
    Uh slammer,
    Sorry about my previous post. I should know better than to post any quotes that I read online or in the newspaper. I couldn't find the site where I read the original story and the subsequent ones I saw were more realistic.
    Yeah, I'd like to see a new face win the Cup and Holland seems to be the pick of that litter.
    We shall see!!
    Well Mr Smartypants Pigrose,
    The troughs at WC '06 will not be big enough for the both of us!
    The only porkers allowed will be served ala carte w/mebbe a little barbie sauce. Unless, of course, pigs really can fly!!
    Well a miracle of miracles! England finally won a game!!
    The word is that they expect to make it to the 2nd round of WC '06 and they should make it to the round of 16 and hopefully will make it to the quarterfinals and possibly make it to the semis and there is no reason why they shouldn't play in the final!!!
    Sounds like they are hedging their bets just a teeny bit!
    i love Boudicca. she was the warrior Queen of the Iceni. she defeated the Roman army in the year 60 and retook London from them. they defeated her in the end and she killed herself by drinking poison :'( her statue is outside the Palace of Westminster (Big Ben and Houses of Parliament).
    Hey Icy,
    Sorry about the botched spelling. Recently saw the movie. If the Lions had her playing defence next Summer in WC '06 the Cup would be a lock. Even L'orange would be wimpering!!
