Chelsea lost today for the first time. looks like arsenal are going to win again :'( seeing as they havent lost for over a year, and probably wont loose again this season. i hate arsenal, man u, man city, etc etc. i hate football stupid game.

i just read another post about excuses, this isnt one, but the ref gave man city a penalty, which wasnt a penalty, and now we wont win the league, because arsenal have forgotten how to lose.

maybe i'll go to an arsenal game and streak on the pitch when it looks like CHELSEA will score, just to put off the arsenal

CHELSEA FOR THE DOUBLE ; )

i also saw ronald koeman is metioned somewhere in this thread. no comment.EDIT seeing as theres alot of Dutch here i'll explain myself. first when he still played for Holland he fouled an English player and should have got a red card. then he scored the winning goal.
EDIT NO THREE i dont think i can come back to this thread, i just get too carried away, maybe when im abit more mature i'll come back :D

Quote form the New York Times,

    ENGLAND

At Old Trafford, a Rivalry Intensifies

There was no soup for Arsenal, but there was soup for - and on - Sir Alex Ferguson of Manchester United after his team's victory in a contentious game that ended the Gunners' record 49-game unbeaten streak in the English Premier League.

The wrangles between Manchester United and Arsenal never seem to end, and the result of Sunday's match at Old Trafford is no different.

The Daily Telegraph of London reported that an unidentified Arsenal player doused Ferguson with either pea or tomato soup after the game in a corridor off the tunnel leading from the field as the players jostled and jawed. (Why he had a bowl of soup is another matter.) Ferguson ducked into the locker room and changed out of his jacket and tie and into a training suit for his television interview with Sky Sports. Ferguson and David Gill, the club's chief executive, declined to comment on the report.

Arsène Wenger of Arsenal criticized the referee, Mike Riley, yesterday and on Sunday for ignoring a hard foul by Rio Ferdinand on Freddie Ljungberg and for then awarding a penalty kick to United after Sol Campbell fouled Wayne Rooney. (Television replays showed Rooney, who turned 19 on Sunday, embellished the play.) In comments to The Daily Telegraph, Wenger pointed out that Riley, in eight matches at Old Trafford, has awarded eight penalty kicks to Manchester United.

"I think you should look at the track record of the referee at Manchester United," Wenger told The Telegraph. "We got the usual penalty for Manchester United when they are in a difficult situation."

"Nobody touched him," Wenger added, referring to Rooney.

Also in the match, United striker Rudd van Nistelrooy was not sanctioned for a hard tackle on Ashley Cole in which he appeared to stamp on Cole. Yesterday, soccer officials in England charged van Nistelrooy with "serious foul play," and they ordered him to appear for a meeting today in London. Van Nistelrooy could be suspended for up to three games.

Some nasty goings on in this game....

Does anyone know yet if Van the Man was suspended? :doubt:

Ruud was honest enough to plead GUILTY, and consequently has been banned for the next 3 premiership-matches....

    pity.

    (btw...I'm a Gunner ;)
though I love to see Ruud score...soccer isn't just about the goals....love to see the artists...so, as long as Dennis Bergkamp is in the ranks at Arsenal...I'm a Gunner)

Wow, ferguson must be really pissed off by the soup thrown at him.

I think so too. His intension's were entirely honourable. Seeing a man freezing and worn out by year's of defeat, he offered to share his soup. A rare glimpse of true sportsmanship, not seen often in today's commercial environment. ;) :D :D

    Hey Slammer,

What is happening with Ajax. I noticed that Liverpool beat Arsenal today. Arsene Wenger said it was because his players were tired. Boo Hoo! Reports said that Ajax was going to try to sign Kanu. What is your expert opinion?

Well, it might not be such a bad idea after all; last couple of weeks Ajax suffered from a lack of form, which was really dreadful for the diehard fans like me to experience btw.
Combined with the fact that 'we' ;) could use some experienced players in every line on the pitch to restore the balance. Problem is that the average age of the team is now about 23 (!) years. And though they're all very talented, when the going gets tough -like it did some weeks ago- there's nobody to lift the spirits, or call upon the youngsters to simply do their duty and WORK for their money  Instead of that, some of them became very arrogant and started swearing at the coach & media- youthful sins; take a look at yourselves, boys....
Now, with the arrival of Argentinian striker Rosales results are improving and confidence is boosted again, but we sure could use some more 'older' watchdogs. This weekend Ajax did win 4-1 against RBC Roosendaal, with French defender Escudé soring once more.
Of course I'm still hoping for the championship -season has still a long long way to go- but for now psv eindhoven are just in a too good shape, with runners up AZ Alkmaar playing awesum fantatstic football (in Ajax spirit); I wouldn't mind if Alkmaar became champs this year, they deserve it!

As far as Chelsea goes it just shows that spending a gazillion pounds sometimes works.

As far as Arsenal is concerned, they're going down!!!
    What's the reason?
ego clashes? arrogance? over-confidence? Or simply a drop of form?

Don't be silly: Please DO stay in this thread, Iceni! :)
Soccer is the appropiate subject to be immature about ;) :D
Gives us all a wonderful escape from seriousness and worries of daily life...
with which I'm certainly NOT implying soccer itself has not to be taken seriously!  ;)
    enjoy the games

p.s. I don't like (the buying of a topteam like) Chelsea, but ok I'll root for one:
GO ARJEN ROBBEN (born in my neighbourhood) ;)
