Sub-category: Most unusual shot witnessed in person

Once had an older gentleman (as in 80-ish) join us to fill out our 4some. Retired fella who traveled the country in his motorhome, stopping to play wherever he felt like it. I noticed he was wearing a ballcap with the number "8" printed above the bill. Didn't ask at first....

We came to a 140-yd par 3 hole that played from a very elevated tee to a green that lay beyond a pond. Behind the green were out of bounds stakes. He hit first & sailed his tee shot over the green & out of bounds. He waited as the other 3 of us each hit. He then hit his provisional ball. Sure enough, it took 2 bounces, then rolled straight into the cup....for a PAR!

As we drove down the hill in our carts toward the green, I asked him about the "8" on the cap. "Oh that....it's the number of holes-in-one that I've made."

I felt very humble.... :doubt: :doubt:

That is the biggest water trap I have ever seen! It takes a boat to cross it and you can fish on the way! :D

Well, more of the same. Lots of Noobs at the top of the leader board. Although I see Mr. Love there. :D He is also one of my favs. I was watching a tourney in Dallas a few years ago and when he walked by he gave me his ball after finishing a hole. Really nice guy.

Don't you agree he would be better prepared by going to the local putt-putt course? :D :D You never know what type of strange situations you'll see a the BO.

I overlooked that link. That is the same guy that goes all over the world streaking. He did the Super Bowl this year.

Well, that's three good reasons I didn't watch the Super Bowl this past year.

    1. Cowboys didn't play
    2. The halftime debacle
    3. The Mr. Robert's show

Nice idea, Primrose. But I don't like fishing - I hate trying to hook those poor worms. :doubt:

Yup..and we use turkey wings on those hooks to catch the big fish since they always get burnt in the Ron Popeil's Showtime™ Rotisserie.

If ya wanna read about a....ahem....MONSTER hole-in-one, read here:
    Surely this is a misprint!

There's a lot of unbelievable hole-in-one trivia @ the end of the article, too.

I find it hard to believe they would certify that as a hole-in-one if no one even saw the ball go near the green! In my opinion, some kid picked up the ball and dropped it in the hole. Nice kid! :D
