Vijay Singh is one of the most consistent golfers of the day.

...and Tiger still only three strokes back. I guess I'll have to watch tomorrow.

When was the last time you saw John Daly near the top of the leader board on a weekend? Give that man a beer!! :D

Oh. Well in that case, it would really make for a remarkable finish! :D

GR8-lookin' leaderboard. Could be a fun finish.

Uh....might I suggest a Slim Fast instead? ;) Daly must like the word Buick. I think his last late lead was when he won @ the Buick Invitational in San Diego earlier this year.

Really! I was unaware that he had led (not to mention won) a tournament in years. Maybe Tiger should give him a call and get some pointers on how to make a comeback! :D

Edit: But then again, they might be playing together tomorrow...

No kidding! :D How about that shot out of a bush at the British Open in the final round by the big South African?

With so many big names missing and with a goofball scoring system that creates confusing/boring golf, this week's Colorado stop on the PGA Tour is a dud. :(

    Jes my opinion....

Agreed, SSG. The only tournaments I'll watch for that reason are the majors. Too much other stuff to do, anyway! :D

I think those are points. Besides, what's wrong with 31 over par? :D

This explains the goofball scoring system far better than I could....

    THE MODIFIED STABLEFORD SCORING SYSTEM
    By Peter Kostis

Well, here we are again. That time of the year when "plus is good!" on the PGA TOUR. That means the Modified Stableford scoring system at The INTERNATIONAL in Castle Pines, Colorado.

For one week a year it's not just low score wins; it's HOW you get low that's the story. A double eagle is worth eight points, an eagle is five points. You get two points for a birdie, ZERO for a par... that's how you gain points. But you can also lose points! A bogey is -1, while a double bogey or worse is -3 points.

How does this format affect play? Well, it's supposed to reward aggressive play. If you make 18 straight pars, you get zero, zip, nada. But if you make nine birdies and nine bogeys and shoot the same score in medal play, you're rewarded with a score of +9 points: 9x2=18 for the birdies, minus 9x1=9 pts for the bogeys. It's really quite simple - make birdies, avoid doubles or worse, and you'll end up with positive points. Remember: plus is good!

Ronjour is absolutely right....what's wrong with 31 over par? Sounds quite normal to me. :doubt: :doubt:

I guess they get bored on the Tour and have to do something different.
    Must be a tough life.

I don't know the TV ratings for this colossal bore, but I suspect only the true golf-nutty viewer tunes it in for more than 5 minutes.

The play commentators get to me these days. All the chit chat they come up with is amazing. Pleeze!

Gary McCord & David Feherty (CBS?) are often hilarious. Both once played the game @ a high level (in fact, McCord still does well on the Geezer Tour), but both also keep it in proper perspective & know how to poke fun @ the players & themselves. Very knowledgeable & very funny - good combo. :D
