    OK if I understand you correctly I enter: su - rm /opt/BitDefender-scanner/var/lib/scan/bdcore.so then ln -s /opt/BitDefender-scanner/var/lib/scan/bdcore.so.linux-x86_64 /opt/BitDefender-scanner/var/lib/scan/bdcore.so?

Probably, yes. If the second command doesn't work without "sudo" in front of it, then do it with sudo as well.

OK I had to enter su first before entering the rest. But now when I try to do a scan now it says failed to load antivirus engines.

Please, paste the complete terminal output, beginning from when you logged in it.

Those files don't exist. That's why you're not able to remove them :)

OK. But how am I suppose to fix it then? I mean at least it doesn't crash anymore when I try to scan it just gives me an error message instead.

I'm actually kind of lost in this thread. What exactly are you trying to fix? And why are you trying to delete those files?

See my previous post. Not sure how to install Bitdefender It appears that the bdcore.so.linux-x86_64 in /opt/BitDefender-scanner/var/lib/scan is the problem. I could send you the file that works fine here, but don't know how to, unless I append .pdf or .jpg to the file extension.
Then you would just overwrite your existing file like this:
    sudo cp bdcore.so.linux-x86_64 /opt/BitDefender-scanner/var/lib/scan

Yeah that sounds like my only option for now. But would that violate the EULA or not?

Alright, I have attached the file, just save it, rename by removing the appended .pdf and run
    sudo cp bdcore.so.linux-x86_64 /opt/BitDefender-scanner/var/lib/scan

Then it should really load the av engines as it did in my case.

Thanks that did the trick.:thumb: BTW do you think App Armor would conflict with Bitdefender?
