NOD32 Virus Removed-System Not Working

    Okay. Been working on this since Friday. At a total loss. I had a virus (bonanna/jnana type). Installed NOD32 v4 on an XP system. Seemed to clean the virus because no longer getting pop-ups to install their software and bogus scan of threats. However, when I click an app on my desktop, I either get "application cannot be found" or "open with" and I have to chose a program to open a program (such as Firefox, Word, etc.). I have Kryptic.MEO, MDM, and MCO files in quarantine. Just want my computer to work. Exhausted!!!! Can anyone out there help me. I am not very computer literate when it comes to files and operating systems. Just sayin'.....
