NOD32 Update Problem

This problem happened few months ago, after I posted the problem here it seems to be solved already, but it's coming back during the last few weeks.

NOD32 seems to be having problem updating itself, very frequently a windows popped up and say "Downloaded file is damaged", and many times I have to click the UPDATE NOW button to update myself, but not without several trials until it successfully downloaded and installed the updates...

This has caused some inconvenience to me, like when I was watching a full screen movie at my desktop sometimes it would, out of nowhere, popped up a windows saying "Downloaded file is damaged"... This really annoyed me! I know that when NOD32 failed to download the updates it will re-try until it has downloaded the file successfully, but how can I set it to STOP POPPING UP THOSE FREAKING ANNOYING POP-UPS when it has failed to do so??

Quick question,

You do have it on "Choose Automatically" for your servers right? Most likley but I thought I would ask just the same.

Also, If you go to:

NOD32 System Tools | System Setup | Setup, there is an option for "Silent Mode". If this is checked, NOD will only notify you if need to take action.

This should keep it from popping up just to tell you it is damaged.

And yes, "Choose Automatically" for the servers is selected, but the failed attempts to connect and downloading from the servers really concerned me...

I too have been receiving this message (Downloaded file is damaged) almost every time there's an update available. The bizarre thing is that during my trial period (3 weeks) I never had this problem.

After getting my 2 year license, installing, then trying to update, I received the aforementioned error the very first time.

Surely the fact that I'm now using a licensed version couldn't affect my updates? It certainly seems this way though.

 

Seeker, try this:

Download a FRESH copy of NOD32.
Uninstall current NOD32.
Reboot.
Remove C:\Program Files\Eset folder.
Install new NOD32.
Reboot.

It could be you had some remnants left over from the trial version.

 

This is exactly what I did when I purchased my license. Uninstalled the trial version, rebooted, removed said folder, installed paid version and rebooted.

No I have the 2.50.45 version. I'm now assuming I should grab version 2.51.20?

Incidentally, the version I'm using now was from the download link contained in my registration e-mail. Also, it appears that 2.51.20 is the 64-BIT version.

 

2.51.20 is for both 32 and 64-bit platforms, I strongly recommend that you give it a try.
