Offcourse it is only a beta version.
I hope they will beta test it properly so the final will be really good. Not as some other suites we know......

i dont know of any buggy eset betas they are almost as stable as the release versions. i wish more companies where like eset in the way that they take ages to release it but the product is so light and has hardly any problems.

Exactly, and many vendors have introduced suites in the last couple of years so it's a growing trend from the days of just AV this, AV that. It's a marketing ploy, and it works.

I think the main interest will be the quality of the release(s), since Eset has a very well developed AV I believe most people will just assume the suite will be the same way which could confuse many people if the situation should not present itself that way.

Watch out for Eset evangelists :ninja:

What party. HiTech boy himself, said it might take up to a year to get the beta ironed out. Sorry, need solid protection, now.

I am expecting a high quality, innovative product. Eset is synonymous with excellence.

That should just coincide with your current Norton license expiring. ;) :D

I have to admit, I'm not keen on beta products, but then again, I have been using Windows XP for 4 years. :p I'm not saying I'll stick with the NOD suite, but I would at least like to see what it looks like, and how it runs.

does nobody know what the anti-spam and firewall technology are, if they are nods own etc etc.

one user did mention the firewall 'might' be kerio, but they wasnt sure, surely someone must know on here, care to share?

I think aigle is implying that if Eset were simply licensing another company's software to incorporate into their suite, it wouldn't take as long as Eset has, or at least shouldn't take this long.

so he is implying that it will be nod's AV/ firewall and their own anti-spam too, all their own technology?

is this fact, or pure speculation on his behalf?

Yes, if I read him correctly.
I can only make a presumption here, but given that his statement appears to be derived from inductive reasoning, of the inferential and anecdotal sort, I would have to say it was speculation.

I have never said that it may take a whole year for the BETA to be released .Here is my post , read it again :
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=963102&postcount=21

Lodore is right , ESET are always perfect with BETA versions , you all have seen it (recent example is v 2.7). There are never major bugs to be corrected .Versions are always stable and reliable.

my personal view is that the firewall will be Eset's own. The press release says:

"ESET has developed a unique approach that provides true and full integration of point security solutions. The key advantage of this approach is that individual protection modules are able to communicate together seamlessly, to create unparalleled synergy to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of protection. Moreover, the integrated architecture guarantees optimal utilization of system resources"

to me that means they need to develop their own solutions to ensure that all modules can 'talk' so closely with each other.

I'm sure I've read before about this integration angle on here somewhere, just can't find what i'm looking for right now.

Their own employees are allready working with it for a while now so it probably will be pretty stable.
An the other hand we all will find some things to make it even better.
