    Is there a way this program can signal the end of scan so that other
    commands may be executed (like shutdown) ?

    what do you want to ask exactly? Please be more specific. As far as I know NOD32 makes a beep when scan is ended. :D And you could watch the percentage in the taskbar and when it's 99% and then nothing it's done. :p

    now I know! The same option some Download managers have. I'll try to find something...but NOD32 hasn't his option. But why scanning overnight. NOD32 scan takes no more than 30 minutes generally. :)

    Re: NOD32 shutdown, try KAV 2006 ;-)

    Hey,

    hehe, I know what you mean and hopefully this will be implemented into NOD32 v3..

    Because KAV/KIS 2006 does offer such options! :D :p

    best regards,

    For instance, this batch file would display a message about the result after a scan has completed:
    @echo off
    nod32.exe c:\ /ah /pack+ /quit+
    if errorlevel = 1 echo Virus found
    if errorlevel = 0 echo No virus found

    You can fiddle around and modify it so that another program is run instead of displaying the message.

    With Windows 98 you could use rundll32.exe (with parameters) to restart/logoff/shutdown the pc, but I can't get it to work in XP.

    it would be easier for ESET to implement the feature in the upcoming version then to let us doing it manually. :p
