I have a question on cleaning up the database of the NOD32 Remote Administration Server (I use NOD32 RA Server version 1.0.5 and NOD32 RA Console ver. 1.0.5.).

I noticed that the database (the "C:\Program Files\ESET\RA\Server\nod32ra.mdb" file) is quite big: about 250 MB, which is a problem as the server has little free space on the C: partition. There are about 90 clients connected to the RAS.

To reduce the database I deleted almost all events in the Alert Log, Event Log and Scan Log (using Edit -> Delete Special command in the RA Console).
Also I tried to set the following server options:
    - Only keep the latest 10 events for each client
    - Cleanup every 10 minutes

But after all these the size of the nod32ra.mdb file did not change.
The restart of the NOD32 RA Server did not help either.

Finally I decided to stop the server and delete the nod32ra.mdb file hoping that a new one will be created afterwards. But the start of the server does not succeed. In the nod32ra.log file I can see the following messages:

    2005-12-27 13:00:05.269] V1 [43b12cc50000] <INIT_INFO> NOD32RA Server version 1.0.5 starting

    [2005-12-27 13:00:05.347] V1 [43b12cc50000] <INIT_INFO> Number of clients: 100
    [2005-12-27 13:00:05.425] V1 [43b12cc50000] <INIT_ERROR> Error initializing database 'C:\Program Files\Eset\RA\Server\nod32ra.mdb' (14:-1)

What can I do to start the server again?

Is there a way to manage the size of the logs and the database of the RA server successfully?

    Hi,
please be sure to remove nod32ra.mdb from the eset/ra/server/dat folder as well.

The nod32ra.mdb file does not exist in the eset/ra/server/dat folder.
I cannot start the RA Server anyway.

I have solved this issue in the following way:
I uninstalled the NOD32 RA Server and Console and then installed the newer version of the Server and Console (1.0.9).
As the old nod32ra.mdb was lost, I needed to recreate my installation packages in the RAS.

After three weeks of operation the size of the nod32ra.mdb is about 1 MB (compared to 250 MB before reinstallation).
