    Hello,
    This is normal.
The 9/01/2004 ESET was made 2 updates, one of these for maintenance.
The 11 day of the respective month, ESET wasn't made a update, so is normal your log entries, I've the same.

I do not know what is going on, but the current version is 1.597. Check your version and maybe try a manual update....

    visitor,

Cold it be, you are running a trial version, and the trial period has expired? Seems the only logical explanation.

    regards.

    visitor,

Your trial version has expired - as it should after the trial period has ended. The latest database is v1.597 (2004012) - and it does state so on the home page you've mentioned.

Expired trial versions will not be able to obtain new enigine or database updates (you are running an expired version 1 as it seems).

In case you want full protection, you should buy a license.

    regards.

    paul

I had the same problem, the upd.ver file shows that it thought it was getting the 1.597 update, but the actual update being downloaded was tagged as 1.596, so the version woudn't get bumped up, and the next time auto updater went to look for and update, it still thought it had 1.596 and would repeat the process. Eset seems to have corrected the header info in the update file today, so everything is working ok again.

    NewNod,

Although a bit harsh - my apologies for reading not that closely. Guess I had this coming ;).

    visitor,

"none" seems to have pinpointed the issue. Keep us posted as for upcoming updates please.

    regards.

    Thank you very much
A question here: if the update was on 12.1.2004 and our computer is always connected during day time why NOD failed to update to 1.597 on 12.1.2004
Also on the following day 13.1.2004 four attempts made for update and all were version 1.596 where was the version 1.597 hiding all day long from morning till afternoon when correct version appears on 16:13:32

I presume this has to do with the setup eg. update server(s). In case you didn't set up it like this:

    "choose automaticly" , server: http://temp/eset.com/nod_upd/

I would recommend setting it up that way.

    regards.

    Thanks
It is set to "choose automatically"
The question here there were 8 successful consecutive attempts without failure
So set "choose automatically" is not an issue here. What I mean it went through update why didn’t update to the correct version on the correct day and why waited until after 5 (again successful) attempts on the next day.

Actually, the problem was an improper header in the update for the trial version (which was fixed on the 12th), but it's good that you got rid of that trojan.
