Those to the west of Atlantic Ocean have no monopoly on bad behavior.

Ladies and Gentlemen, let's keep the semantics of Honour and Politics out of this thread and remain on topic.

    Cheers

I agree. You are a Canadian and you have still a Queen. :D

But be aware, we were in the final in the last Icehockey Cup in Canada. Some day we may win. :D

    Best regards,
    Firefighter!

I agree. I only want to know what those ESET people are thinking about this kind of policy we have met now twice!

Back on topic, (NOD or DrWeb, quicker against new nasties?).
Just checked Jotti's again and see where NOD showing a current detection before DrWeb.

    ----

"You're free to (mis)interpret these automated, flawed statistics at your own
    discretion."

Last file scanned at least one scanner reported something about:
    eied_s7.cab, detected by:

    Scanner Malware name
    AntiVir X
    ArcaVir X
    Avast X
    AVG Antivirus X
    BitDefender X
    ClamAV X
    Dr.Web X
    F-Prot Antivirus X
    Fortinet X
    Kaspersky Anti-Virus X
    NOD32 a variant of Win32/TrojanDownloader.Mediket
    Norman Virus Control X
    UNA X
    VBA32 Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Mediket.1

    -------------

Still seems to me that NOD's new ThreatSense and ever improving AH is having some good results detecting "new nasties" so I think their overall detection rate will keep improving daily.

NOD is a top notch av I agree, only the two last happenings are irritating me maybe too much. Remember, there is always money that counts in this business, all kind of weapons are used, this was only one of those used. I'm only a relic, who wants something back that has gone away permanently! :'(

    Best regards,
    Firefighter!

Have you taken into account employing additional staff and threatsense. This surely would improve their performance.

    Cheers :D

Can you tell a bit more about what that threatsense includes. I'm quite poor in English and my Swedish has also gone somewhere in the past about 200 years. :D

OK. But what that ThreatSense means in English in other words.

Secondly, I thought that the latest version of NOD is 2.51.8?

    Best regards,

It is how Eset are sent viruses by their customers (those that use Nod32).

The standard English version is 2.50.25

    Cheers :D

For 64 bit. Will also work on 32 bit systems.

Thanks a lot for this advice. Do you now fear about the future Icehockey Cup in Canada now after the last one? :D

    Best regards,

No, I expect the bigest competition to come from the Americans though. And let me just say that I think both Dr.Web and NOD are quick against new nasties to stay on topic as I don't think they play much hockey Down Under.

But we won them last, they were as babies. Our population is about 5.2 million when the US has about 300 million, so what is that what counts? ;)

Btw. The summer is over after a couple of weeks what sucks, I have to reload my kickmobile again. The cars are incompetent during winter.

    Best regards.
