The name AMON is a cross of heritage and "misadventure". It comes from the ancient times of the first NOD generation. Back then, NOD consisted of just a few files and "amon.com" was one of them. During that "glorious" DOS time, it was very fashionable to give the AV related TSR (resident / realtime) programs name "monitor". This one was "Antivirus MONitor" in particular. Very suitable name for those days but very inaccurate today, I'd say. Let's wait for 3.0. :p

    Cheers

Yeap. Those IMON, AMON were misleading when I first started using it. Was confusing but I just set and forget - done.
