I have a audio problem in my computer.

I formated my pc yesterday and installed windows xp sp2 version.

I installed my motherboard drivers for network to work.

i did a windows update and i installed the other hardware update there was but no audio.

now wat is the problem? do i need audio drivers?

I have an Asus K8V-X Motherboard with a built in sound card

btw i have the latest klite codec pack and video works but not audio?

i go to device manager and my Multimedia Audio Controller has a yellow ?

i go to audio options and i have everything disabled and can't enable it?

This is not a codecs issue. The ?,and the disabled audio options would indicate that the driver still not installed so Windows dose not recognize the device. If this is an onboard audio device (built into the mobo) then put your driver CD back in. Close out of the auto-play. In Device Manager right click on the device with the ? and select Update driver. When it gives you the option of where to look make sure the optical drive with the CD is selected. If this is an add on card then do the same except using the CD provided with the card. Also make sure Windows Audio is set to Automatic and Started under Services.

Is it onboard? If it is, then what is the make and model of the of the PC? If it is an add on then who made the card and what is the make and model?

http://www.asus.com/ <---- will get you to their home page. You will have to tunnel down from there depending on your location.

    ^ ;)

always best to download the latest drivers from the mobo manufacturers anyway
especially on boxes youve integrated yourself and bought anywhere near the bleeding edge
they tend to release them without optimized drivers or BIOS

check the revisions for your chipset while your at it
