NIS 2008 runs light and well on our boxes. KAV alters your file system without your permission (check threads for CHKDSK issue with Kaspersky). Go with Norton.

I am a KIS 7 user (and KIS 6 before); it runs light and offers excellent protection. I would be cautious about the "KAV alters your file system without your permission (check threads for CHKDSK issue with Kaspersky)" statement. This has affected some users of KIS or KAV but the operative word here is SOME, and not all.

Used to use NIS (up to 2006 version) which I ditched as it was to heavy on the system but from what I have read the latest versions are much better in all areas.

IMHO both will do an excellent job; it is just down to budget, effect on YOUR specific system, even the look of the GUI, etc. So my advice is get hold of a trial of each and give them a whirl before you decide.

    :D

    Hi,

I have tried both on my laptop and Desktop.

KIS is much better and lighter also.

NIS 2008 is showing almost three icons in taskbar. But KIS is only one.

and Features are more understandable in KIS too.
