Let me preface my comments by saying that I use AVG 8.0 and don't know if NIS 09 would throw a fit, if it detected MBAM or SAS scanning (perhaps other NIS users can tell you that before using them on your laptop), however, MBAM is an On-Demand scanner, and I'm using it, in conjunction with AVG, without any problems.

Likewise, unlike your Paid SAS, the Free version does not include Real-Time protection and can be configured, via the Preferences button > General and Startup tab, NOT to start when Windows starts, NOT to scan when SAS starts and NOT to check for updates prior to a scan thus becoming an On-Demand scanner as well.

Does your system have an Nvidia Video card or on-board the mobo? SAS has some sort of problem/issue they have not been able to resolve when the system has Nvidia GPU.

    Long thread here:
    http://forums.superantispyware.com/v...44a4dc7e94806a

On my system, the cpu spikes about 1 time per sec. Opening the Preferences Panel in SAS stops the spikes strangely, but who wants that open all the time.

EDIT: I should mention you only see this with the Pro-version and Real-time-monitor enabled.

    Hi JRViejo :)

I think you may have misunderstood me a little.

    I don't have the Paid SAS ... It's the Free SAS ;)

And I already have it set not to start with Windows :thumb:

    On the Desktop Computer...
    AVG 8 .. Anti-Virus & Antispyware - Paid!
Windows Defender .. Antispyware - Free With Vista!
PC Tools Firewall Plus .. Firewall - Free!
    ON Demand...
    SAS - Free!
MBAM - Free! ( Thanks To Your Good Advice! :D )

    On The Laptop...
    Just - NIS 09 ;)

    By The Way...
    You know - Securitywonks ... It's Gone!
Well... I don't know if it's gone - But it's certainly not the updater any more o_O
When I opened MBAM this morning... To Update!
The little box now say Malwarebytes .org :D

    Thanks Again! :thumb:

    Hi Littlemutt :)

    Yes ... I do have - Nvdia
On both my Desktop Computer and Laptop

    However...
It's the Free SAS that I have
And that's on my Desktop Computer.
The CPU on the Desktop computer is Fine now :thumb:
It was only One night about a month ago ... And - The Other Night
CPU and Hard Drive ... Became Possessed :argh:
I think it may have been the evil iexplorer .exe ... Trying to get in - But Failed!

    Thanks!

Windows Defender has never found anything for me. At least Norton has the sense to disable a worthless piece of crap.

It's not gone. If you click the drop down arrow, to the right of the name, you'll see 2 mirrors: malwarebytes.org and securitywonks.net. I've noticed that they change randomly but haven't figured out why yet. Nothing of concern though.
