Thankful, Can you help with a license for trend micro internet security 2015 , i can pay you true Paypal?
I just grabbed (2) of ESET Smart Security 2015 - 1 PC - Download @ $7.99 each. Thanks again for posting the promo code, Thankful.
I'm not sure if this matters with Trend Micro, but some av licenses have regional keys. So just be aware that even if you get a key from someone in another part of the planet it may not work in your location. So the first thing to find out is whether TM has regional keys or not. But I hope you are able to get something worked out.
Same with the Trial and Paid version of Norton Security. Does TM give you a choice to decline uninstalling WSA? I know that Norton gives you a choice. I declined to uninstall WSA. Running both Norton Security and WSAC (beta) on one of my computers with no slowdowns or problems.
Eset really sucks in that they do not add your year purchased to your current license. They have some alarm pop up demanding immediate attention, so you go and purchase another year. And that year begins the moment you put in the new license. I really doubt it's that difficult to just add the license onto the current subscription. Eset is, after all, a tech company that is supposed to be at the high end of the food chain. As far as being greedy for the almighty $$$, they are bottom feeders and nothing more.
I don't like the way Eset handles it either. I had to endure two weeks of that annoying message before I put in my new license info. The new license begins when you activate the new code and receive a new username/password via email.
I think that is normal behavior of most AVs, even if you had a license for Trend it would request you to do the same. One way could be to install WSA after Trend if you can't get around that message, if you want to use both.
Yes, a number AV/IS apps will not install if they find another resident security app. It may be a concern that the installation will be interfered with or the combination is unsupported by the vendor. As you say the workaround is to uninstall WSA and then reinstall it afterward. Webroot does support using WSA alongside other security apps. It's a bit of a nuisance, but as long as the keycode is saved it's not a problem.
Trend is not recommended with any other AV, and it's not supported at all, and yes it can cause serious issues with Trend. However you can work around this if you wish.
Yes, in the case of WSA it could be more annoying than helpful as WSA could work fine along Trend so the WSA uninstall that has to be done is not really needed if one wants to use both. But for the majority of the AVs (that does not work like WSA) it is very good and important that currently installed AVs is detected to prevent future problems for the customers.
Right on and Thanks Buddy! I don't bother to reply to people that has no clue about WSA and other AV's and AM's! TH
I don't know Trend is one I never tried because it is quite a large install but maybe I should on one of my VM's! And again there is to much Off Topic in this thread for Newegg deals. TH
I don't know either, but if there is issues between them, then it would be good if Dragon1952 and other WSA users that think about trying Trend out knows about them before they uninstall WSA to install Trend and then WSA. Yeah a bit off-topic...but people had questions.
Removed Off Topic Posts. Let's Focus On The Topic: Newegg.com AV Specials, and Not Each Other. Thank You!
