newbee question xp and adaptec/intel ich

    Hi,

    i recently downloaded Acronis Workstation Echo with the intention to make images from my OS Windows XP - but it doesnt work.
    I have a Intel ICH Controler for my C-drive (the one i want an image to create) - my D-drive is an Adaptec 1420 S-ATA Raid 1. Anyhow i also tryed to restore the file from an external usb drive - and that would not work either.
    The System is booting up and tell something like ...unable to load linux.. press Enter to restart..

    any idea ?
