I thought this was interesting as I viewed a local webpage.

An advertisement which stays hidden at the bottom of the screen, with a green bar. Sneaky part is, no close button for the ad, only for it to hide as it appears in screenshot 1, and open in screenshot 2.

With javascript off, the ad doesn't load, but I started to wonder, what if there were several of these bars loading on your page, all stacking on top of each other? Wouldn't that decrease the amount of viewing space and/or annoy users?

Also, what if the advertising didn't hide. With most users not knowing how to block the ads with their browser, they'd be stuck with the whole ad loaded (think if explicit ads starting to load and couldn't be right-clicked and closed etc).

Ad loaded - but hidden - can't be closed

Ad loaded - unhidden - can't be closed

Anyway, interesting seeing these ads. I know others which are loading and covering the whole screen, and disappearing (which means, no close option for the user), they're annoying too. Might take Rmus's advice and have javascript turned off at all times. :)
