funny how you refer to mine and not
    virusinfos LOL

I suspect you have paranoid detection tho :)

it was only a little test of
    mine to compare, just for
    fun really, but thought
    I'd share it nevertheless

If you mean paranoid: "We say bad to all, what is not good", then it maybe will explain our good detection rate, but on the other side our FP's. Like i said in my first post, were working on it :)

av with firewall or so ?

Nope. (We have thought about it, but because of our small number of developer and other upcoming projects, it is currently not feasible)

So is this test dependable or not? Although I understand the method of this test. Can someone explain how AVG did so much better than Avast in this one, even though the two are usually very close in other tests like AV Comparatives? Also I believe it may well have been AVG Pro that was used as this particular test includes Ewido.

It is important to understand. This test mainly shows AV reactions to NEW malware.
All malwares tested where them extremely new and undetected by most of AV. Because of this you can see "poor" detections for all AV. And no AV which shows 99% detection, that you can see in most other tests. So AV with fastest reaction will win. Of cause good heuristic will help a lot in this test. And in real world antiviruses with faster reaction to new malware will really give better protection.
Most of other tests today done on collections of very old malware. And the differences between AV are very minor. Because of this such tests almost useless.
