Just noticed that there is a new version of LinkScanner Pro (2.7) available and was wondering if it is just a case of installing over the top of the current version (2.6) or whether I need to uinstall the current version firsto_O

    Any advice gratefully accepted.:D

I have not used LSP for a little while, but from what I remember about upgrades, I believe I installed on top of my exsisting version.

Normally you can install over the top, which I did.
However I sent a support ticket because it is not updating the exploits and malware sites (in my case).

    Thanks both

I will try an 'over the top' and if that does not work I will roll back, uninstall and then install the new version.:D

After installing the newest version I have noticed that The LinkscannerConnect.exe is no longer present. I wonder if this means that Linkscanner no longer uses the CallingID database?

Same thing here. Have you logged a web ticket with support?

    Hello Everybody,

Regardless of whether one is performing an over-the-top install or a clean install of a LinkScanner Pro(LSP) program update, I highly recommend that one test to ensure that their copy of LSP is functioning properly by visiting the following link.

    http://www.explabs.com/test/

If the above test fails, it may mean that a "repair" install is in order or a conflict with another program has occurred during the LSP install process. Hope this helps.

    Peace & Gratitude,

    Tring LSP again myself.
I like this piece of security software, the only reason I removed it was due to conflicts and if I remember correctly explorer crashes. Not sure on the last one as i'm not as young as I used to be but LSP is back up and running and time will tell if it stays on or not.

    And it's back off again.....
    Major slowdown...to a crawl.
    Must be conflicting with something.
Maybe when I get a little more time i'll see if I can find out what it is but untill then its gotta go.

    And back on again.
It was my ISP to blame not LSP. o_O

    For those who are interested,

The major changes/improvements to LinkScanner Pro v2.7 are as follows according to Jon at technical support.

    - Improved performance for phishing heuristic.
    - Fixed problem with incorrect scan statistics in the Monitor status window once the byte count becomes too large.
    - Sporadic issues with
sploitchecker.dll crashing have now been resolved.

    Hello LoneWolf,

Unfortunately, I have no idea as to the timetable of when LSP's "Search Shield" will be functional in Opera.
