I read that ESET was getting ready to release a fix. Is this to be this week?,
I think it would be a mistake for them to make a guess.
the word is around Christmas. As far as a day or date, I dont care. I would rather for them to make sure to get all needed then to worry about any date. Its coming Larry, and hopefully we both will have some of these posted.
Just called ESET Tech support
They told me no new releases till maybe mid January & to default back to v2.7? They said by than the bugs should be fixed. I ask why did they release it so early than? This really gives me a bad taste. This was a minor annoyance 2 nd week after release but not funny now...
Re: Just called ESET Tech support
Larry, I am very sad, specially because I cannot install ESET Smart Security in my computer. I need the new version.
Weren't they releasing a new version before christmas?
Oh my god, this is worst than the service pack 3 for windows xp
Re: Just called ESET Tech support
The new version is planned to go out before Christmas ... this if everything will run well.
How come you are so sure of that?
I have confirmation of the technical support of the Eset unless they walk playing the people and answering at random.
Archive Support Module updated 12/12
^^ can also confirm that.
What's the CPU usage? Have they brought it down yet?
it seems the freezes with large archives are gone.
Cool. I've been experiencing that quite a bit recently. A much-improved ESS in time for Christmas would be a nice present!
Cleaner module: 1023 (20071214)
Has the 100% CPU issue solved yet?
not sure as I've never had a problem with it.
Let me put my question differently. How many had or have the high 99 - 100% CPU usage that has been reported?
Note: I just realized this post should be in the AV thread, not the firewall thread, but input from both is important.
I had very high CPU usage with the original release 3.0.551. I did a complete uninstall and installed 3.0.563/6. My high CPU problems went away.
Overall I do find any 3.x to make my PC a bit slower than the 2.x series.
I suppose ESET is working on tweaking it. ESET A-V protection is just too good so I can live with it while they work on it to make it better.
I sure hope nothing goes wrong and the new update comes out before Christmas. There'll probably be a lot of fixes with this one considering how long it has taken.
Kernel, The program modules have been updated:
Cleaner module: 1024 (20071217)
Thanks for the heads up on this.
Another update today:
Antivirus and antispyware scanner module: 1101 (20071217)
So 4 module are left to get updates too
