    Hi Serching :)

If you'd already had v4.0.0.44 installed .... You could Smart Update to v4.0.0.45

Unfortunatly... You can't Smart update from v4.0.0.40 to v4.0.0.44 or v4.0.0.45

PC Tools say you can install one on top of the other :doubt:
But people that do that... Often end up with big problems :(

Much Safer To Do A Clean Install ;)
You will then go straight to v4.0.0.45
    Tip!
Before you try to uninstall - Remember To...
Right-Click on the PC Tools Firewall Plus Icon, in the Taskbar ... And Click - Exit
    Uninstall PC Tools Firewall Plus
    Then...
You could also check in your Programs Folder ... To make sure the folder for PC Tools Firewall Plus has not been left behind
    If it has... Delete It!
Then remember to empty the Recycle Bin.
    Note!
Be Careful! ... Only delete the PC Tools Firewall Plus Folder.
    OK ;)

    Hope This Helps! :)

I seem to remember that 4.0.0.40 wouldn't find .44 on my system either, so I manually installed .44 over .40 (which worked fine) - .44 does find .45 via smart update.

Thanks for the details Saraceno. If I ever get brave enough to try it again, I'll remember to click full access. :)

Symantec has sucked the fat one for awhile.

But given their improvement to their 2009 range of products, and the company's promise to now make 'efficient and light products', hopefully in the near future, the word symantec being aligned with a program will mean it's a good product.
