I would like to request Moderators/Administrators to change the name of the thread to something like "Kingsoft PC Doctor Discussion Thread".

    Thanks KS :)
Only one question...I have never "touched" (only default settings) feature "IE browser settings" - but why was removed?

    Hello folks,

Dear KingsoftSecurity thank you very much for the link, but Avira Web protection module keep saying that the file is a malware. See the text below:

    Requested URL: http://softdl.pcdoctor.kingsoft.com/version/setup_multilang.exe
    Category/categories: Malware

It's a false positive, but could you contact them to remove this false positive?

    Best regards,

    Aeolis

Justed installed this program for the first time, i.e., v3.0.1.105. :)

Woke up to a warning popup from my HIPS monitoring program, SSM, which I decided to block. I thought it would BSOD, but it didn't.

However, there is a 'KingsoftDump' folder created in C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temp.

Also, I noticed this minor GUI glitch.

After a reboot, I always update MBAM and run a quick scan...

    So, I allowed this...;)

Yes, users normally don't want to do so many actions and make many decisions. We're considering another default software settings, maybe IE will be back there. This could not be confirmed.

I'm running it by itself on my main PC. I know it is supposed to be a companion program, but I have tested it enough that I feel comfortable running it solo.

Kingsoft had completed its first IPO in Hongkong on 2007. Currently we profit from other products and services, and Kingsoft Security - part of Kingsoft, is serving more than 100 million users. Now we want to make KPD as our brand and image in English market. It's truth that not easy to support a good product without a paid. We may add some paid features or services, but please believe, what you're using today will still be free in future, and even better.

On what criteria this product rates the programs as safe. I find it not good.

    Test yourself.

Download & save malware from sites like MDL, malwareblacklist, etc & it rates few malware as safe.

I downloaded & saved 20 malware. Of which 3 malware it said safe. Cross checked the malware with VT & high detection was there.

So I dont know on what basis it rates the files as safe but I find its rating system poor.

    Thanxx
