Am just trying MSE for first time (after huge problems with FSecure... acknowledged but unresolved)

Dumb question folks... how do you check what version is installed... can't find anything that leads to it.
    Thanks

Open the interface and click the the arrow beside the help. Its at the top right screen.
Select "about MSE" and you can see the version.

Maybe a silly question, but is that Pacific time?

Well I don't know about you guys but, the engine version has recently updated, and Quick Scan has gone from being 10 minutes to just over a minute for me.

I had a scheduled full scan set up to run tonight at 10 PM. I was not at my computer when/if the scan started. I actually forgot about it until a few minutes ago. For the life of me, I couldn't find any thing that showed a scan was started, and or completed. I clicked on the History tab, but there was no scan listed. I went to Program Files>MSE, to see if I could find a log file, but didn't find anything.

How are you supposed to know if a scheduled scan actually took place?

Is anyone using MSE with other AVs together? Any conflicts or major slowdowns?

It's something that has been reported by the beta testers and will most likely be changed before the official release. It is one thing I certainly don't like about the program. There needs to be a place that gives us details as to when the scan happened, what was scanned and if anything was found and or fixed.

TheIgster...... Thanks for the info that this has been reported by the beta testers. I agree that it's important to know what was scanned, and if anything was found and or fixed. I hope MS listens to the beta testers, and adds this function before MSE is released.

Actually if anything was found it WILL be in your history, the only time you won't have history is if nothing was found.

True, but it would be nice to know if the scan happened for sure or not. I would also be nice if there was some basic info like Scan Completed at such and such time on such and such date - xxx items scanned, no issues found or something along those lines.

Well I personally disagree, telling me my system is clean is useless information, but after a scan, if you click the home tab, it will tell you the amount of files scanned and that your system is clean. I don't think it needs to go further in-depth than that.

That works with an on-demand scan, but it doesn't on a scheduled scan. After a scheduled scan runs, there is nothing at the top of the GUI in the home tab that tells you a scan took place, and how many files were scanned. That is a flaw that needs to be addressed.
