    Hello,

Today I did in-depth scan of my whole computer. But I saw new items that could not be opened because they are used by another application. I have never seen these weird items. Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

Thanks for your time.. I'm going to ask my brother if he installed any game recently. I dont like these items I will have to get rid of them somehow;) Thanks again..

    EDIT:
I found out that these files had been created 31.1.2006 and he admitted that he'd installed game at that time, but he has already uninstalled it so why the Hell these files are still in my computer? I am going to kill them:-D

It happened to me too, but I don't remember how I uninstalled it.
Anyway, I bought FEAR, and didn't installed it yet (waiting for a CPU upgrade), but I think I will have those files too.

it puzzle me too why seemingly no games uninstall their protection software properly, you would be lucky if there's an entry in Add/Remove Program

anyway, aslo check if "SecuROM User Access Service" is installed on your system

SecuROM is no problem. Same SafeDisc. StarForce is another story, though there are special removal tools...

As CloudWalker says, there is a SecuROM service that also gets created. If you go to Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> Services, you should be able to find this service and disable it.
