I hope they fixed the bit by bit disk imaging of EXT4 under UEFI secure boot environment. It's was a shame they did not bother to fix it in v1.45.

Is Drive Snapshot reasonably fast? And reliable? I'm thinking of using it instead of Aomei as I find Aomei a little slow on backup and restoring. I use Macrium Reflect as my primary and like it a lot, but just like to have an alternate just in case...

    Thanks. Running a backup now.

First one in quite awhile with DS.

It's somewhat noticeably slower on my machine then Macrium with the backup it seems but I think that's normal for a new first full backup.

Running a full disk backup here to a tethered portable disk storage under "Live" windows environment. 1 Terabyte Capacity. @34% at the moment and rolling along.

I like that it is portable and does not need this now annoying online activation.

It's always been super dependable in this camp stretching back to XP. It's still astonishing how small the file size is for what it's capability does both in and out of routines. Also can't recall a single time it missed the boat putting Humpty Dumpty back together again on my units both old n new. Works like the energizer bunny. Although a bigger fan of Macrium these days, this puppy still does the job the same way without a miss on this end.

Some people just don't like to document things. Sad, but true.:thumbd: Probably just fixing more bugs that popped-up after the version change.

Maybe, but the sixty four thousand dollar question is, what in all the green earth is such with DS that mr developer feels necessary to release so many. And not making light of anything at all, but this DS is been a true blue solid performer for as long as I can remember. And that stretches back for this user to Windows 98.

One can't possibly help but to side with Pete wholeheartily regarding some changelog or other share what is the change.

That being said, as is always echoed from my end, DS continues to perform above and beyond expectations. No it's no Macrium, what else is? But for it's small size it sure holds it weight well enough IMO.

New DS builds were released today (May 23rd).... http://www.drivesnapshot.de/en/down.htm

The latest releases differ in size from the April releases, so even though no change-log accompanies the new builds (as usual) I have to believe that there are actual changes this month.
