    Hi,

I perform a full backup then an diff each week (or before an install), after a while I keep the last diff for each month, then for each trimester, etc.

When new diffs get too big, I perform another full backup.

    98 remaining..

I have a distrust from bad experience in the ability of imaging software to put dif. images back together on time everytime. What's the point of backups if they don't work on the day needed. So I only do individual full images.

    97 remaining........

I've restored thousands of diffs with nil failures. All of my restores are from diffs these days.

    Which app failed you?

I have done it many times on a XP system, always without any issue.

That was post #1 - then it turned into a 'discussion' from post #2 onwards.

New version out now... 1.40.0.15894. As Aaron would say (where are you friend?) no release notes as usual. :)

When shodaow mode is invoked, where should the SandBoxie Folder in C:drive sit, inside or outside of the shadow?

Drive Snapshot has been very reliable for me.

    I think:
It is developed by only one person Tom Ehlert.
He has a very small support staff.
Many of the updates are a rolling release, to keep the backup part of the trial working for at least 30 days.

I have contacted him and he is very responsive to real problems.

    Great software !!

Everything you just said is true. One reason why it's not updated so much, apart from the trial limitation updates, is because there's simply nothing else to add right now; there are no bugs that he can reproduces and no features he feels need to be added. Maybe he has something cooking that will require more thgan just small updates. He has yet to tell me if that's the case.

i think it only needs a bootable cd for restore purposes.

You can easily boot from any WinPE you might have and just launch the .exe file...easy, no fuss...and updating it is as easy as copying over the newest .exe when it comes out.
