    The bottom panel mode is reminiscent of Windows 95/98/XP.

    In top panel mode, it could be combined with a dock on the bottom to replicate the look of Mac OSX.

    The two panel mode brings back the classic GNOME 2 Desktop.

    And there are plenty of configuration options in Cinnamon to please both newbies and power users alike.
