    Bad news is that his system was clean, without any other security software.
    Good news is that he has installed Pro version and... it works!
    How could it be?

    (I don't want to harp on it, but your question & the response did not answer my question.)

    Thank you.

    Anyone is having the problem of empty events.

    I have tried to uninstall and reinstall but the problem is still there.

    Thanks.

    FYI. . .

    For some reason, the Activation System really gave me fits this time with 2.7.3 on my XP system. I had to enter the same information in the Activation popup at least 6 or 7 times along with the same number of reboots. I was just about ready to give up, uninstall it and go back to 2.7.2 -- or possibly try to reinstall 2.7.3. On my last reboot attempt, it appeared to work (not sure why - didn't do anything differently) and it still seems to be OK.

    The events will be empty until you have something in your whitelist, and you use your system. It starts up empty.

    Yes, it starts up empty at each boot, but it doesn't require anything to be white listed to show an event. For example, if you launch task manager, it should show in your events.

    @TomAZ

    I'll take a look at that.

    @smith2006

    When you execute a process, example notepad.exe, and you allow it, if you check the Events TAB can you see it listed ?

    @arsenaloyal

    What are your options in Settings -> Password and in Settings -> Protection ?

    @pablozi

    Free version was not optimized to fully support Windows 8 OS, Pro version supports Windows 8 32-bit and 64-bit, I forgot to write this.

    i have password protected everything except allow once option.

    and although this is not a priority if you see the password prompt is on the top left of the screen, i believe it should be at the center.

    Yes, I could reproduce the issue and it will be fixed in the new version 2.7.4. Thank you for reporting it. Regarding the system freezing you reported during Fast User Switching, is that working fine with v2.7.3 ?

    Excellent, thank you for your fast reply, I have not been able to test the Fast User Switching so much,but I will check a bit more today and report it to you if I come across the issue.

    I have 2 more questions:
    1. Is free version going to be updated to the latest release?
    2. Do you still plan to develop free version when fully functional trial will be available for potential customers?

    Events tab is cleared after each reboot.
    If you need to check something from previous sessions, use ERP log.

    I have no idea what NVT is going to do, but I can tell you what I'd recomment do him.

    As to question 1. Think about it. If they update the free version to the current release, they would essentially be giving the program away.

    To me if they update it, the only update that would make sense is make sure the current free version can run on Windows 8

    But my recommendation is the drop the free version. Given the price of the Pro version is only 19.95USD for a one machine lifetime license, the support costs of the free version could kill them. That price point is so low, it just doesn't make sense to me to support a free version.

    This is a good idea. But first we do need a fully functional trial ;)

    Well, my total system lock up with MBAM Pro is still present. I was finally able to boot to safe mode, and I had to uninstall MBAM Pro. I had all exclusions in place on both apps. I seem to be the sole user with this issue. o_O

    Have you tried to set ERP or MBAM service to "Automatic (Delayed Start)"?

    Negative siketa, that's probably the only thing I didn't try. With MBAM Pro, I don't use any of the real time protection, just the update/scan schedule that it offers. I run an update and flash scan at each reboot..........That's it.

    If at all possible, could someone please share or give their opinions on the most secure settings/setup to use.

    I want to harden ERP as much as I can.

    Your input would be much appreciated

    Thanks

    Well, I thought this was resolved, but not so. Just as before, when rebooting, ERP did not load with Windows. The ERP Service loaded, but not EXERadar.exe - nor was there a system tray icon.

    Instead, I got the Activation screen again during bootup, but this time I did a "Cancel" and let Windows finish loading. Once Windows was completely loaded, I was able to start ERP manually and everything appeared to be OK. When I checked the License info in the Help menu, everything was correct.

    For some reason, some of my starts and reboots want to call the Activation screen instead of just loading ERP the way it should.

    Edit: On occasion, it's loads correctly with Windows, but most of the time it does not.

    HI Radeon101

    My overall philosophy is I trust most of what's on my system, so I let those things do what I want.

    Basically what I've done is this. I started by letting ERP do it's thing with system stuff. I then I whitelisted both the Program Files area and Documents and settings.

    Then I removed a few things from the whitelist. Rundll32.exe,cmd.exe, and Regsvr32.exe. When I get specific Rundll32 pop ups, if its something I will be using regularly, I whitelist the command string. Same with Cmd.exe with one exception. When Sandboxie deletes, it using a random command string, which the wildcard command string handles. Instead though since the delete sequence is fired off by Sandboxies start.exe, I just put that in the new Parent Process tab, and that handles all the Sandboxie strings.

    I also removed all the Java stuff from whitelisting, so anytime Java rears it's head, I can look at what's going on.

    I feel this is pretty tight, but I backstop it with Appguard in lockdown mode. So Java for instance is guarded, so even if I let it run when I shouldn't have, it can't harm my system. I do the same with the Adobe Acrobat programs.

    Pete
