Netscape 8.1 sounds

    Does anyone know how to shut off the sound on the new Netscape browser 8.1
    it makes a wierd noise when I'm using it. any help would be appreciated.

    i tried the new 8.1 but it didn't make any noise on my comp.??

    It makes a sound like a car door closing when I am browsing, it doesn't do it all the time.

    I wish I had an answer to your problem but I have not heard of this one in Netscape yet. Unless it might be causing an icompatability with your sound card. If and when you find what is causing this problem it would be appreciated if you would post the answer here. So we will know incase anyone might devolope this symptom.

    Edit===I just did a bit of searching and can't find anyone else having this problem.

    I just found that it is doing it when I use the back button!

    I think that it is the warning that a popup has been blocked, I have looked but I can't find a a way to shut the warning off, it is very irritating.

    Go into setings and under popups shut of the audio notification that a pop up has been blocked.
