The detection technology is combined of "multiple technologies, proprietary and from other vendors". In Oct 2012 AV Test detection test it has performed best with 99.97% detection. But that result is not available in public access Av-test website. I have been given an access by the support team who allowed me to share that here.

P.S: It is the first Mexican Anti-virus for PC's and flash memory devices.

Does this use Zonealarm engine, signatures, etc... as iswift & ichecker tech is mentioned in the info. If I am not wrong those tech are in Zonealarm.

    hi
A post that shows exactly what i suggested on my post 41 about career opportunities of some new avs
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=342688
Also a long list from AV-Comparatives
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=341614

No new AV in the market will solve the black list detection scheme as it is first a mathematical problem without solution.
As often posted on this board, this is also the rule of comparative tests organisations to incorporate new arrivals on their testing list.
Far from a list of 10 or 12 well/long time established av editors, i would not recommend any new av...
Regarding regional market share, and in this example Latin America, i guess that Panda has an excellent expertise of the underground hacking terra in these countries (Brazil, Argentina are among the most active).
Except for geeks who have never heard of the PIXIES ("where is my mind"), NEW does not mean BETTER of course...

You mean uses the Kaspersky SDK engine as iswift & ichecker are from Kaspersky ;)

I happen to be a geek who has heard of them and a long time listener...and I agree with your statement regarding NEW. I often wonder why there is interest in new traditional AV's anyway (other than just snagging a few bucks from the market). Is this being too negative?

From my experience in introducing new products in Wilderssecurity, I know that not everyone bothers about any New Security Products but only about products that are either offered Free/Have good detections/have new techniques. The present AV reportedly have both Good Detections and Multiple Technologies.

I'm from Mexico. First time I heard about them was back in 2008 when I was looking for a USB antivirus. At that time they used to advertise mainly on Mercado Libre, which is the latin-american version of EBay. I remember that they were selling a lifetime license at that time. To be honest, I didn't like the advertisement, it was not so confidence compelling. Lately I've seen that they now offer their USB Security product for free if you participate in a Facebook contest.
If you are interested, I can try to contact them and see if they can drop by and ellaborate on their technology/engines and all that.

In page 4 of the Antivirus & Antispyware Manual (PDF), its mentioned that you can select the language of your preference during installation.

I had tried it on XP SP3 32 Bits.

The installation offers to select language. Espanol was selected by default. There were few other languages but none was available i.e when I tried to select any nothing happened, selection seems greyed out.

I had downloaded from official page mentioned here in the first post. I had downloaded Internet Security for 32 Bits. It was app. 153MB zip file. It unzipped & offered to select languages but nothing happened when I tried to.

I really can't understand the interest. As it is a definition-based product (and it's a guess about the quality of the defs), it has no true zero day protection- in essence a downgrade from those products with a track record of timely defs and with some zero-day module.

Tested it with 2-3 days old 11 malware. Most of the reputed AVs detects all these 11 malware. Neo detected 0.

Neo also stopped or kind of took over security center. Attached is the screenshot.

To me it seems a fake AV.

cruelsister, I just tried it for fun.

Thank you Naren!! Failing on some D+3 malware is as enlightening as it should be troubling.

It IS NOT a fake AV, it's just not as good as others. That's all. Doesn't mean it's fake. If you know what fake means, of course.

Arthur C Clarke wrote that any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

Cruelsister writes that any AV technology bad enough is indistinguishable from malware.

Well, so the PDF given to me is fake o_O May be I need to contact AV-Test.org about this. I got excited due to its 'great' results there.
