I have tried everything I know to verify the password I used for Outlook Express Classic Free. As a last resort I have downloaded the software "Password Recovery Bundle; Trial Version". As I do for every software I download I uploaded it to Virus Total and Jotti to check for malware. Both found problems and since I downloaded the software from its own site I am hoping they are false positives. I was wondering if any of our members had any experience with this software and if they had would they recommend me installing and using it? As always I appreciate all replies and would thank you in advance. John
Not listed on MajorGeeks so I'm skeptical. Try this: NirLauncher 1.23.30 https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/nirlauncher.html or these: https://www.majorgeeks.com/mg/sortname/password_recovery.html
NirLauncher seems to cause false positives in a lot of cases. Mail PassView will likely get the job done. I have used it many times without issue. Unless Norton is installed.
I just scanned it at VirusTotal and it's a definite false positive and nothing to worry about. ESET correctly identifies it as a password recovery tool, the detection from DrWeb is a false positive and every other scanner identifies it as being clean. Personally I don't think that software not being listed at MajorGeeks means too much.
Please let us know if the app works. I have tried similar apps. Those all worked for passwords blanked-out by asterisks (old style of obfuscation) but NOT for passwords blanked-out by solid black dots (current style of obfuscation).
nirsoft is totally free, no trial, never. Whatever you loaded, drop it into the basket and if you had it installed use adwcleaner to clean up.
