At this point, I'm willing to listen to anything! I have to build a 10TB NAS, three times, and have each sync across a VPN. Now, synching them, and building a VPN, is no problem, my issue lies in the hardware.

    Any recommendations?

    What is your budget?
What other hardware/servers are at each site?
Expecting to do this with enterprise grade hardware like iSCSI SAN, or home cloner build hardware with PATA/SATA?

Does build = physically assemble from basic components or get available packages configured/working with the rest of the stuff?

Haven't really thought about the former, something like QNAP for the latter seems OK.

FreeNAS supports software RAID5 to a maximum of 8 disks, 1.5tb*7=10.5tb.

    One less part to buy.
