... On the plus side, at least they didn't explode https://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/08/24/samsung_tvs_botched_firmware_patch/
Hmmm, I must be ignorant. I don't know what a "swish set" is and my friend Bing Google is not helping me. Can someone enlighten me?
No. Not them. These things just happen. But it should have been thoroughly beta-tested by their quality control/quality assurance before it went final. It was they who failed to detect the problem and/or management for failing to ensure thorough beta testing was not done first. We don't know the full extent of this either. Samsung sells millions of TVs every year. If it only affected a few users of 1 particular model, no amount of beta testing might not have been good enough to catch it. But if this bug affects every one of a specific model, that's a huge quality control issue and heads need to roll.
Does anyone know if the firmware update ONLY affected Samsung TV's in the UK or did it impact all Samsung TV's everywhere? (I'm in the US)
