    They always love something like that. You should have seen Darwin, when he was he was playing in the sand and going into the salty water. He just adored it.
    Thanks Stephen, we sure are very proud of our boys.
    btw Darwin means 'my best friend' (I chose the name) and Elwyn means 'elves friend' (chosen by my wife). We simply didn't know it was also in the friend's category.:D

    It's a great thread indeed. Lovely pictures, so lets keep it alive. :D

    Going back in time, here's Elwyn in the birth chamber. How fragile they always look, but how quickly they grow. Before you know it they're going to school.

    Your friend.

    Eric ;)

    Yes u are quite correct Eric, they are very fragile and lets go back in time some more, with a picture of Millie, when she was 6 months old.
    Sorry, but I did not have my digital camera when she was born and this is the earliest picture I have on my pc.
    I also think the names u and your wife chose are very nice and u have made a good choice with Darwin and Elwyn.

    Your friend

    :D Stephen :D

    These pictures are all sooo adorable!!!!

    I don't have a picture to post, but, how about this.............
    (get your tissue)

    A Special Angel

    Once upon a time there was
    a child ready to be born.

    So, one day he asked God;
    "they tell me you are sending me
    to Earth tomorrow but, how am I going
    to live there being so small and helpless?"

    "Among the many angels,
    I have chose two for you.
    They will be waiting for you
    and will take care of you."

    "But tell me, here in Heaven,
    I don't do anything else but
    sing and smile, that's enough
    for me to be happy."

    "And how am I going to be able
    to understand when people talk
    to me, if I don't know the language
    that men talk?"

    "Your angels will tell you the most
    beautiful and sweet words you will
    ever hear, and with much patience
    and care, your angels will teach you
    how to speak."

    "And what am I going to do when
    I want to talk to you?"

    "Your angels will place your hands
    together and will teach you how to pray."

    "I've heard that on Earth there are
    bad men. Who will protect me?"

    "Your angels will defend you even
    if it means risking their own lives."

    "But I will always be sad because
    I will not see you anymore."

    "Your angels will always talk to
    you about me and will teach you
    the way for you to come back to me,
    even though I will always be next to you."

    At that moment there was much peace in Heaven,
    but voices from earth could already be heard.

    The child in a hurry asked softly:
    "Oh God, if I am about to leave now,
    please tell me my angels' names."

    "Your angels' names are of no importance,
    you will call your angels
    Mommy and Daddy."

    {and Grandma, and Grandpa, and Auntie, and Uncle, and etc...., and ect..., and ect......}

    It amazes me just how trusting of us God really is with these little angels.

    OK....get your tissues ready, here's another!!

    To My Grown-up Son

    My hands were busy through the day
    I didn't have much time to play
    The little games you asked me to,
    I didn''t have much time for you.

    I'd wash your clothes, I'd sew and cook,
    But when you'd bring your picture book
    And asked me please to share your fun,
    I'd say,"A little later, Son."

    I'd tuck you in all safe at night
    And hear your prayers, turn out the light,
    Then tiptoe softly to the door...
    I wish I'd stay a minute more.

    For life is short, the years rush past...
    A little boy grows up so fast.
    No longer is he at your side,
    His precious secrets to confide.

    The picture books are put away,
    There are no longer games to play,
    No good-night kiss, no prayers to hear,
    That all belongs to yesteryear.

    My hands, once busy, now are still.
    The days are long and hard to fill.
    I wish I could go back and do
    The little things you asked me to!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Let's all remember to flip off our computers sometimes.
    We can always turn them back on later. :)
    Yes, thanks BeetleBoss for another great poem. I'm saving these, because they may come in handy. :)
    I hope you had a great new years dinner, Stephen. It sure looks like it.
    Who pulled the cracker? Was it Blair? :D
    Here's Elwyn's birthcard I made to send to my family & friends.
    So I was right. The same happens with Darwin, always teasing, but also playing with his younger brother. :p
    Great pictures, Stephen. :cool:
    Here's another design I made at Elwyn's birth.
    Thanks Stephen, I was just experimenting on several designs at that time. I like to make my own cards.
    A lot cheaper btw. :D
    Here's a not so pretty picture when Elwyn had chicken pox. We sure had our hands full at that time, because Darwin had it too. :doubt:
    Elwyn however suffered the most, so we really didn't get enough sleep.
    Your friend.
    Eric ;)
    Hi BeetleBoss,
    It lasted for 3 weeks. Yours got a vaccine, so that helps. Our doctor forbid a vaccine or Fenistil, because he wasn't even 1 year old. :'( It simply was too dangerous to use it on him.
    We found however Toxico Rhododendron, which helped a lot during the last week. Our oldest did get Fenistil, so he didn't suffer too much.
    It's a terrible disease for children at that age and one we don't want to see again.
    Yeah, despite his suffering, he still could smile. :)
    WOW! You guys have been very busy with the photos! I'm running a bit short of good snaps at present.....The wife just took Sophie (and the dig cam) to her mother's in Warwick for a couple of days....and hopefully I will have a couple of good ones to post when they return. Sadly, my holidays are nearly at an end, and I will have to return to the HEAT of my home next Thursday.....some 700km north of Brisbane! (smack on the Tropic of Capricorn!) Return to work about 20 Jan, so still a couple of weeks to get things in order. Thanks Mul and Eldar for posting those great snaps (and thanks to Mrs Beetle for the poetry!). This is clearly the best thread at Wilders, and it wil go on...and on....and on!
    Best wishes to all for 2005.
    Cheers and take care,
    Brad.
