Has someone that uses AVK emailed them yet and asked about port 110 being opened?

There is no port 110 issue it seems.

All of the antiviruses I have tried take alot more time than nod32. I dont know the reason for this but it makes me suspicious.

Could someone give me their cpu time (for the avk task) after maybe an hour or two of computer use?

    Thanks

I wish they would just put a trial version for download on their website.

hmm. How odd. How can it be that much faster than KAV? When I have KAV on, it is in the 1:30 range after 2 hours.

Do you guys think it is faster than KAV?

    Very interesting

App has to be optimized for HT to take advantage of it. I doubt AVK is.

Messing around with ZA 5.0 Pro, mem is 7-7.7MB. Had Outpost before, which I liked, but the Ad Blocking didn't work. This works.

Still waiting on my trial AVKPro key.

I think another thing worth doing is if a registered user sends tech support a question. See how quickly it gets answered.

Less than 12 hours. Sent @ 7:24CST in response to the one in the quote above. Not bad at all

Me: I heard the Microsoft had purchased RAV. Is that going to affect the RAV part of my program or its updates?

    Dear Eliot,

I am glad to inform you that your information is correct and Microsoft had purchased license for RAV technology. It will be included in Service Pack 2 for Windows XP.

In any case this fact will no affect on interests of eXtendia AVK users.

Thank you for contacting technical support, we appreciate your business.

As long as Microsoft doesn't force ANY antivirus inside the operating system, it's okay. :)

Ok, is anyone else showing 25-30% on explorer usage while using this? Just sitting here doing nothing and it reads 27-29% constant o_O

EDIT: Kerio is causing that as I disable and it goes away. Hmmmm o_O

Most probably it is the antivirus checking Kerio all the time ;)

Does sound odd. Could it be that kerio needs to be excluded from on-access scanning in AVK?

i am a registered user of AVK through extendia and i love it, HOWEVER.......

i found that i cannot run AVK and zone alarm 5.0 firewall at the same time. I get blue screens all over the place (even with the ZA 5.0 antivirus program monitoring option disabled). I've since uninstalled ZA 5.0 and installed the trial version of outpost 2.1 and the two have been playing nice for the past couple of days.

my machine is a p4 3.4 hyperthreading enabled 1024 ram machine with win xp pro

so for anyone with zone alarm 5.0 and trying to run AVK, can you confirm whether or not the two play nice on your machine? thanks

Gonna try other firewalls when I get back from work this evening. Will post back with results if others do the same.

The new Zone Alarm with antivirus has some "glitches". I understand they are working on the problems.

I have found it is better to wait awhile before putting any new program on my system until other people have "tested it for me. :)

the registered version of ZA Pro 5.0

i've also noticed a bigger problem with ZA Pro 5.0 on another machine of mine running amd athlon 64 3200+, win xp pro, 1024 ram, ZA Pro 5.0 seems to have a memory leak or something, when i first start it up everything is find, and in fact it seems as if the "footprint" of ZA 5.0 is much smaller than 4.5, but for the past couple of days, after letting ZA run in the background, after a few hours the memory usage keeps climbing and climbing and i've had to restart it a few times (this is running in conjunction with nod32).

on my amd machine, i've uninstalled ZA 5.0 and installed outpost and now everything runs fine.

i would advise anyone thinking of upgrading to ZA 5.0, to NOT do it. Wait a few weeks for the bugs to be worked out
