    cheater87,

The only thing I can think of is to ask them what it would take for them to trust ewido and try to do whatever they ask.

how about telling them to come here and read some of the posts. I trust this site because they have given me very good advice. Also Ewido has this forum on their main page as a link. Companies would not do that if they want to keep themselves legit.

How bout downloading ewido 4.0 trial, show them what it does. Run a full system scan with your anti-virus, show them the computers not infected. Run a full scan with Ewido and show them what it finds (if the ewido guard did not already get it)

    Hi cheater
Maybe you can help your parents to learn a little more about the security that's available on the internet. It will take a little time to convince them, and they are right to be wary of something that they don't quite understand.

You could show them the little padlock that appears at the bottom of your screen when a good website is asking for your details. And how mousing over it shows the encryption level of that page. Point out to them that it means no-one else can view the page. That sort of thing.
Don't forget that you can encrypt your own emails if you want to.
Also, you can usually get a free first month of legally acceptable email signatures from various companies such as Verisign. These can help to assure those you email that you are genuinely interested in secure communication.
Also, you could try to show your parents a website's privacy policy. ( i know that most of us don't read all of it  )

I'm not an expert on web security or anything, but I've been shopping on the internet for almost six years now, and have learned what to look for.
But I can say that I have used Grisoft antvirus software right from my first day on the net, and am now very happy to have recently dowlnoaded ewido.

Personally I confess to liking free stuff, but I will buy a product gladly once I see it is effective and reliable.

Hope this helps a little. :thumb:

    Pete.
