Tools, tools, tools, I'm looking for a good time. Tools, tools, tools, get ready for MX. Presenting: a review of MX Tools, a helpful, multipurpose toolbox of unique utilities and programs available in MX Linux, designed to help less experienced users perform common tasks like system maintenance, drivers and codecs installation, iPhone mounting, visual tweaks, boot repair, snapshots, and more. Enjoy.

I love the MX series. MX-17 also has Compiz and Emerald in their repo (and it all works!) so absolutely no need to miss out on any glitz. My only issue on this triple booted i5 AIO is Cairo Dock does not fully function with all the effects whereas it does with Ubuntu 18.-04 MATE on the same machine. I also have the excellent MX-16 (KDE added version) which is still supported and looks like a class apart when compared with the flat and boring Plasma 5 stuff being dished out. This is my MX-17 after a bit of love.
