As I'm aware many of my US Friends here and on Facebook use Newegg. Some are reporting issues with the new file purchasing off the site.

    Do one of the following:

Temporarily disable disable Hosts in order to avoid the bug | issue in order to avert site issues. Ensure your reverse this once (leaving) Newegg !

Add a permanent exception for the (one) website if the issue persists.

Please use the contact information at the Hosts Home page for feedback and comments.

    Thanks for reading.

Thanks siljaline for the update on the MVPS HOSTS File.

I'm a newcomer to managing the HOSTS File but I'm already a big fan.
I was able to get rid of a real nightmare of a tracking cookie which had been bugging me for months .

It kept coming back on my weekly scans ( my active AV , plus MBAM and SuperAntiSpyware on demand )
and this was in spite of me having used the the various cookie management options to blacklist it
in the browsers that I use.
This was the culprit , and it could only have come from a process which uses IE in the background ,
even though I had "disabled" IE a long time ago !
    minadvertising -persistent nuisance tracking cookie
My thanks and respects to ghodgson for pointing the way !

For myself , and for any other newcomers to this , could you please confirm that this is
    the correct procedure ?

1] download the updated HOSTS file
2] delete the existing HOSTS file and replace it with the new one
3] edit the new file to include my own previously blacklisted sites , as I did with my current version
    of the HOSTS file

It's a great tool , thanks in advance for any advice !

Please use the contact info listed here for all queries regarding issues with the file as I don't personally support the changes and contents.
