The Mullvad Browser is a privacy-focused web browser developed in a collaboration between Mullvad VPN and the Tor Project. It’s designed to minimize tracking and fingerprinting. You could say it’s a Tor Browser to use without the Tor Network. Instead, you can use it with a trustworthy VPN. https://www.theverge.com/2023/4/3/23665477/mullvad-browser-tor-vpn-privacy-browser
Yes, it does sound interesting, but I haven't given it a shot yet. Here is some more info: https://mullvad.net/en/browser/hard-facts
I've downloaded it but... It's impossible to try that "BROWSER" without PAYING MONEY FIRST or being a Mullvad client. My next thing was to figure out what software to use in order to UNINSTALL it.
That's incorrect - i installed it (and am enjoying using it!) without paying anything, and without being a mullvad vpn subscriber, and they state explicitly on their website that you don't need to subscribe to mullvad vpn or pay anything to use the browser.
See: https://mullvad.net/en/browser ("The Mullvad Browser is open source and free of charge, whether or not you are a Mullvad VPN user"). What is important is not to try installing it in the Program Files directory; it won't work there. Rather, it has to be installed in a directory such as Desktop or Documents.
I have tried to regularly install that browser, and that's what I got. You needed to purchase either CREDIT or pay any CYBER CURRENCY. Just for you, I'm repeating the process of installation. It DID NOT ask me WHERE TO INSTALL! Next, a small pop-up window has informed me about the browser changes. GOT IT. Next. "To start using the app, you first need to add time to your account! Buy Credit, Redeem a voucher." Account: OUT OF TIME! End of the STORY! P.S. Why do I listen to strange people! The process of UNINSTALLING is fast. And that is a one good thing about Mullvad Browser.
But that image shows, that you installed Mullvad VPN, not the Browser. https://mullvad.net/en/download/browser/windows
I've started exploring that Mullvad Browser. The strangest thing was when I visited FIRST TIME CreepJS. It showed it was my 17th visit. N.B. A big problem - I don't know how use Mullvad Browser Sandboxed. The browsing speed is the same as with Brave or Firefox.
The latest version of Sandboxie-Plus has a guide that helps to create a template for browsers. Since Mullvad is Firefox based it should work to use it.
Thank you. It's getting a little bit complicated - I can get the same results with Firefox without any headache.
I see. But it is rather simple to add a browser in S-boxie-plus. But there is no loss of not using Mullvad since it is nothing special about it, more than the name. And i think that is their aim, to have a browser with their name. therefore functioning as an add.
I don't use that S-Plus-Boxie. I use the Classic one, but... It's a good idea to have an extra BROWSER for this/that reason and assign it to this/that particular (trustworthy) web-site. At this point, all fingerprint web-sites are BROWSER & EXTENSION - based; therefore, different browsers for different purposes. What I like about Mullvad Browser. It takes almost no time to start it. It has my favorite button - Close all tabs, clean, and restart. And there are no lingering cookies, history.
You can switch the look of Plus so it look and functions as classic, but with the mentioned enhancement.
I really like Mullvad Browser for its simplicity, "lightness," privacy, security. No leaks. It's a well-crafted browser with just one visible extension - uBlock and (hidden) NoScript. (I don't use Mullvad Browser Extension.) If there was an easy choice to use it with Sandboxie, Mullvad Browser would be my second choice, after Firefox but before Brave.
This morning, Mullvad Browser informed me about an update. Cool. Let's update it, but... No problem, I'm going to update a different way, but... No (Yes, it's a problem) problem. I'm going to download from Mullvad's web-site, but... Instead of downloading the new version (as indicated on the web-site - 12.0.5) it gave me the old version of 12.0.4. WHAT Guess, what happened next. Yes, I have uninstalled it!
Although my first/original Mullvad Browser (12.0.4) was installed on a MacBook Pro (Apple M1 Pro) running macOS® Ventura 13.3.1 (a), the 12.0.5 update went well for me. HTH
No luck for me. I've just tried again. And I said to myself, "Let's use the most "innocent" browser - EDGE - without any VPN to download Mullvad Browser. (Because, other people easily downloaded it.) Here is the result: In the left tab, one can see that I'm trying to download Mullvad Browser (not Mullvad VPN). And it's v.05. In the right tab, one could see the answer from Mullvad: 404 Not Found. The Mullvad Saga continues...
I just updated using internal updater and it went fine, without a problem. Trying to download it from their site gives me 404 error also.
For those having download issues, all Mullvad Browser installers, hashes, PGP Sigs, source code, etc. are available from their repository: https://cdn.mullvad.net/browser/ HTH
