IF MSE is no longer supported after January 14 2020 as being reported - what free Anti-Virus program do fellow posters recommend as a replacement o_O

    Bitdefender/Kaspersky/ ?

what you need is os replacement, imo; not av/amw. just upgrade to 10 and use windows defender.

    @ ozbadcat

I posted up about this recently here:
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/microsoft-ends-windows-7-support-one-year-from-today.412155/page-6#post-2878211

If the definitions updates fail after January 14, it's Bitdefender Free or Immunet for me. Haven't decided yet.

@ozbadcat If you don't plan to upgrade your OS than replacing your AV is wise to do.

I would choose either Kaspersky or Eset or Emsisoft. Whichever would run best on that system.
