mse cant update engine

    for some reason mse tells me it cant find some package to update to the latest engine
    its looking for it on e: my external drive i changed e: to search on c: but it still cant find it o_O

    didnt work Mpcmdrun not a valid name

    Cd\

    Cd program files\microsoft security essentials

    Mpcmdrun -removedefinitions -all

    Exit

    didn't work o_O
    i can update the definitions
    i run xp pro sp3
    whats been changed in the engine [do i need it ? ]

    Think I would try a reinstall using the latest version. Worth a try.

    tried reinstall got same results
    i remember having the same problem last update it wouldn't install a little while later it installed fine
    anyone else have this problem ?
    the file its looking for is eed2fa252c44a483d5377203776d6x86

    manual uninstall failed looking fir this file

    uninstalled it with revo reinstall failed genuine what a load of :thumbd: :thumbd: :thumbd: :thumbd: anyway back to as before now :D

    the only thing different is my firewall is set to custom settings o_O

    i don't think changing that will help but will try default settings now

    no difference
    still cant find that file
    but as i can still update definitions
    i don't think its a major problem at the moment
    so i give up for the moment
    [one day when this pc breaks i'll get a new one] :D
