Is there some way to verify MRG's results ? Do they share the test samples ? Some of these results just dont add up as I know some products have generic protection for some of these tests and yet ??

Missed samples are submitted to vendors, this is done before the tests are published.

Generic detection does not guarantee 100% detection ratio, we talked about this already in this thread I believe.

you can forget generics most time, i know from some vendors, .gens for tdl4 are mostly broken after 3-6 hours

TLD-4 is updated so fast? sounds like they have 24/7 mangler coverage

Well I believe the TLD series is like a "job" for the malware creators, like many of the big viruses and trojans are today. Malware turned into a business some time ago. That's why I can't rely on an AV or AM for two reasons; 1. Cause it just won't catch everything with its cloud, heuristics, and what not. 2. Cause today I can't stand the sluggishness and most of all the swapping when playing games.

raven, Avast Pro or the suite is pretty good if you enable the sandbox at all times. That coupled with their malware detection ability is pretty bullet proof and the sandbox really didnt have a negative impact on my computers.

FYI: this isn't my data; credit goes to one of the members of the MRG forum. I just did this quick and dirty screenshot of the scores.

    Thanks for that compilation, LODBROK.
I see that Sunbelt VIPRE at 76.7% PASS is actually pretty good, only being beaten by 4 other names...
DefenseWall, MBAM, Emsisoft and Zemana. :thumb:

Let's keep the record straight... Panda currently has a 41.7% PASS rate and 58.3% FAIL rate.

Curious that Avast had all passes when Gdata had a couple of fails.
